We are excited to announce that Volkswagen Driving Experience is back in 2013 and tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 23 April.

There will be 2 courses available in 2013; the Progression Course for confident drivers wishing to learn more and for those that have previously completed the Progression Course, there is the Evolution Course which is designed to elevate a driver's skills from reactionary to proactive.

This year Volkswagen Driving Experience will be held at:

Sydney: Sydney Motorsport Park 3 - 5 June
Brisbane: Lakeside Park 31 July - 2 August
Melbourne: Phillip Island Circuit 2 - 5 September

How do I know which course I should do?

If you are having trouble deciding what course is suitable for your level of skill please take a minute to fill out the questionnaire on the Courses page.

Why didn't I receive an email with my log in details?

Please make sure the Volkswagen Driving Experience e-mail address ( is added to your safe sender list and check your junk mail folder for your confirmation email. Alternatively visit 'Manage my booking' on the website and click the ‘Forgot Password’ option. A new password will then be sent to the e-mail address provided.

How can I view my current bookings, or make additional bookings?

Please log in to 'Manage your booking' with your e-mail address and password. If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one through 'Manage your booking'.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel your booking. However please make sure you have read the refund policy before cancelling, as refunds are only valid up until two weeks prior to the event.

Can I change, cancel or transfer my session to another day or to a friend?

Log in to 'Manage my booking' with your e-mail and password to cancel your booking.

To transfer your session to another day, you will need to cancel your previous booking and re-book on the website.

If you want to transfer your booking to a friend, simply sign in to 'Manage my booking', change the personal details and e-mail us at, to let us know your friend's e-mail address. Make sure that your friend meets the course requirements or they will be refused participation on the day.

How do I receive my owner’s discount code?

Your unique Owners Discount Code can be found when you log in to YOUVW, in the owners benefit section of the site.

I didn't receive my owner's discount code?

Please call the Volkswagen call centre on 1800 607 822 with all of your details including your YouVW code.

My owner's discount code didn't work / I forgot to apply my discount code.

A discount code is ONE USE ONLY. Please make sure you book the correct course and that the code is correctly applied before proceeding with payment.

If you forgot to apply the code, you will need to cancel your booking via 'Manage your booking' and rebook with the code.

Is it possible to attend both Progression and Evolution courses?

We recommend attending a Progression course in 2014 and an Evolution course in 2015.

The reason for this is that you need time to practice the skills you have learnt during your Progression course before undertaking the Evolution course, which is a faster, more intense pace. Also, attending two sessions after another would be exhausting and we need you on top form for the Evolution program!

What do I do if I have missed out on getting in a session this year?

Unfortunately we only have limited spaces available. If you have missed out on this year’s courses make sure you register your interest for next year so you will be the first to find out about next year’s Volkswagen Driving Experience program.

What do I need to bring on the day?

Bring a copy of your confirmation email, your current, valid driver’s licence and the indemnity forms you received via email prior to the event.

Please ensure that you are dressed in long-sleeves (no shorts, or t-shirts) and that you wear closed shoes (no heels or thongs). We also recommend a rain jacket and warm clothes as some locations can have temperamental weather conditions.

How long does each session go for?

Each session is four hours, however please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the session start time to register and enjoy the breakfast or lunch provided.

Which cars will I be driving?

Progression course participants will be driving the new Golf GTI and Golf GTI Performance vehicles, whilst Evolution participants will drive the new Golf GTI Performance and the new Golf R.

Can my friends come and watch?

Unfortunately there are strict policies at most circuits regarding spectators, so we request that participants don’t bring spectators. If you do need to bring someone along, be sure to let us know via email so we can organise with the venue in advance.

Is food provided?

Both breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants in the morning sessions, and lunch will be provided to those attending the afternoon sessions. It is important you arrive 15 minutes prior to your course start time to register and enjoy the refreshments provided.

Can I see photos from the day?

Pictures from the event will be posted in the gallery on the website. Due to safety reasons, there will only be intermittent photography throughout the day. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee photos, although we will do our very best to capture your experiences.

Why didn’t my video record properly?

There are a few reasons why you may not be able to view your video. Firstly you can try downloading a different codec that specifically reads the file type. If you are still unable to view your video please contact us via e-mail with a detailed explanation and we will attempt to resolve the issue for you as soon as possible.

Why isn’t the Volkswagen Driving Experience in Perth or Adelaide in 2014?

Due to logistical demands, we are unable to bring the Volkswagen Driving Experience Program to Perth and Adelaide in 2014. This was a tough decision and one that we didn’t make lightly and we will review this decision for future programs.

Refund Policy



  1. Requests for cancellations must be managed via the 'Manage my booking' option on the website.
  2. If cancellation occurs:
    • Less than two weeks prior to your Driving Experience course, no refund will be provided by PLAY Communication Ltd. on behalf of Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd;
    • More than two weeks prior to your Driving Experience course, PLAY Communication Ltd. shall refund to you 100% of the total fee paid within 5 to 10 business days on behalf of Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd.

The Participant agrees that the above provisions are fair and reasonable having regard to the financial commitments undertaken and resources employed by Volkswagen Group Australia Pty Ltd in connection with driver training.

Please check you meet the licence requirements for the course before making a booking. You may be refused entry on the day otherwise.

  • I hold a full Australian Driver Licence and have held that licence for more than 3 years


  • I am over 21 years of age

  • On the day I will be able to provide evidence that I have completed the Volkswagen Driving Experience Progression course or a similar driver training program
  • All participants must agree to all terms and conditions outlined in the course indemnity forms. A signed copy will need to be provided on the day of the course.
